I have not been able to replicate this. Maryana mentioned something very similar to this on IRC yesterday - she said she was able to resolve the issue by clearing cookies AND browser history. I'm not particularly familiar with iOS/Safari, but I wonder if there's local caching going on that's getting in the way of the redirect. Brion would you mind opening up a bug about this so we can better track it? Anyone else experiencing issues? On Fri, Jun 20, 2014 at 12:12 PM, Brion Vibber <bvibber@wikimedia.org> wrote:

Not sure if this is just because I have stray opt-in/opt-out cookies on various languages from various previous browsing or if there's something funky.Steps to reproduce:1) Open Safari and go to https://www.wikipedia.org/ portal2) Click "English"3) see that I'm on the desktop site, logged in4) Click "Mobile view" link to force back to mobile site5) Manually go back to https://www.wikipedia.org/6) Click "English" again7) ...see that I'm on the desktop site again, still logged inor1) Follow above procedure up to getting on English mobile site2) Go to a random article3) "Read in other languages", pick a language like Czech or Galician4) find I'm back on the desktop site in that languageCan anyone else reproduce this or have I just messed up my cookies?-- brion
