Yeah, it looks like I signed off on the card for this change (https://trello.com/c/65fIifaP/40-bug-69487-special-mobileoptions-checkboxes-are-confusing) on Sept. 23rd, which means the changes went live on the first week of October.

We should probably investigate what the usability issue is with this. I suspect it might be the combo of height of the checkboxes and the relative smallness of the save button at the bottom of the page – since the checkboxes take up the full screen on most phones, even the longer new iPhones, people probably aren't getting to/using the save button.

Eek... is that when we switched from toggles to mw-ui checkboxes on the settings page? :-/

It looks like taps on Settings haven't changed (in fact, they've gone up), but both opt-ins to beta and turning off images took a hit. If that's around the time that the checkbox change went live on enwiki and other big projects, that might be the culprit. Can somebody double-check?

Around the beginning of October our beta opt-in level declined significantly and has stayed at the new level. Did we change the UI? Just curious.
