Hey! Good question. We have two apps, Wikipedia Beta and Wikipedia (production). The production app also has an alpha group and you're a member! When we publish the Beta, we often publish an identical[0] production candidate in the alpha group. If testing of the Beta and the production alpha goes well, the production alpha will be promoted to a release and rolled out to everyone. You got them both around the same time because of your production alpha membership. I copied the release notes from the beta over to give some idea of what changed to our testers, but upon promotion these notes will be firmed up and describe the difference from the last production release instead of the last beta.

[0] There are some _some_ differences but they're for purposes of package distinction and A/B testing.

Hi,

great! One thing that confuses me: You wrote, that this is only a new release for the beta app channel, but today I got an update on the production release, too, with the same changelog as in the beta app. And the new prod-version is the 109, too? Have I missed an announcement?

Best,

Florian
