Hello,
This may be a repost, but it says on my other one that it was not accepted.
I have MediaWiki installed on a Windows Server 2012. For the most part, the page works fine, however, randomly the page will not load and give me an error stating 'Exception encountered, of type "Error"'. I have found no documentation on this error online, and turning on backtracing does not seem to help either, except for telling me that usually a class is not found. For example, when attempting to login, it will usually work, but occassionally will break and say "Class 'UserPasswordPolicy' not found".
I currently have a workaround, but that involves restarting the server completely, which is obviously not ideal. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

For information on debugging (including viewing errors), see http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:How_to_debug . A list of related configuration variables is at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Configuration_settings#Debug.2Flogging
This should allow you to find out exactly what is causing the error. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Configuration_settings#Debug.2Flogging

Check if your extensions are the extensions for your current MediaWiki version. It seems to me that this class is added in MediaWiki 1.27, and your MediaWiki installation is probably using 1.26 or older. If some of your extension are for 1.27, it may use this class thus causing an error in earlier MediaWiki versions. -- Gary Guo

Thanks for that tip Gary. I checked my extensions, and they all are for version 1.26. This matches up with the version of MediaWiki as well. I think I may have fixed it though. I "rearranged" some tasks that were scheduled to run with the SQL DB, and have so far had about 48 hrs without any issues. I am not sure if this actually fixed it or coincidence, but only time will tell.
Thanks!

So it broke again. I turned on debugging as suggested by John Doe and got the following error:
Notice: Constant MEDIAWIKI already defined in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mediawiki\includes\WebStart.php on line 71
Notice: Undefined variable: wgRequest in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mediawiki\load.php on line 36 Exception encountered, of type "Error" [f9d11c50] /mediawiki/index.php?title=OM-Arch_Wiki:Privacy_policy Error from line 36 of C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mediawiki\load.php: Call to a member function checkUrlExtension() on null Backtrace: #0 C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mediawiki\includes\AutoLoader.php(90): require() #1 [internal function]: AutoLoader::autoload(string) #2 C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mediawiki\includes\actions\WatchAction.php(28): spl_autoload_call(string) #3 C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mediawiki\includes\AutoLoader.php(90): require(string) #4 [internal function]: AutoLoader::autoload(string) #5 C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mediawiki\includes\skins\SkinTemplate.php(1022): spl_autoload_call(string) #6 C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mediawiki\includes\skins\SkinTemplate.php(456): SkinTemplate->buildContentNavigationUrls() #7 C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mediawiki\includes\skins\SkinTemplate.php(240): SkinTemplate->prepareQuickTemplate(OutputPage) #8 C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mediawiki\includes\OutputPage.php(2317): SkinTemplate->outputPage() #9 C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mediawiki\includes\MediaWiki.php(722): OutputPage->output() #10 C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mediawiki\includes\MediaWiki.php(508): MediaWiki->main() #11 C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mediawiki\index.php(41): MediaWiki->run() #12 {main}
The weird thing is I wasn't doing anything when it broke on the server, like it happened randomly. All i did was click on a link to go to the privacy settings. I restarted the server, clicked on the same link, but now it works fine. I really don't know where to go from here, because I neither know what causes it nor what actually fixes it.

After upgrading to 1.25 I'm seeing an error in my logs:
is_executable(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/bin/bash) is not within the allowed path(s): (/[path]/:/tmp/) in /[path]/httpdocs/shared/includes/GlobalFunctions.php on line 2771
and a short search reveals that I'm not the only one:

Anybody got a solution besides doing what this admin did:

Thanks and greetings Stip

This warning is pretty much harmless.
