My original mail seems not to have made it to the list: could be that the CSS style that
will prevent the tagged span from being displayed triggers spam/phishing filters ...
I've replaced you-know-what with XYZ below...
=====================
Then would something like (untested):
{{#ifeq: {{PAGENAME}} | <your source page> | |<XYZ>}} ...
{{#ifeq: {{PAGENAME}} | <your source page> | |</span>}}
work for you?

I would like to conditionally wrap a section of a page with a <span> tag that sets
the CSS style to hidden when that section is being transcluded. So, I want the text to be
transcluded, but not visible to the user.
Thanks,
Al
