Hullo, I've been an administrator and user of several MediaWiki installations for over a year now, and have contributed to this list in the past. Now, I have a comment about the user login interface: the MediaWiki does not use a very standardized method of doing new user registrations. While the system might be elegant from an implementation point of view (that is arguable as well), it is definitely not the most intuitive or consistent way of presenting two different functions to the user at once. I don't think I've ever seen this kind of registration page/login page intertwined anywhere else, and users have mentioned this quirk to me in the past. New user registration functionality is usually quite seperated from existing user login. The structure may reflect a lack of importance placed in registering a username for the wikispace. I don't know if this is true - I suppose it could be, and that's another discussion. This is just a thought on a relatively minor issue that I wanted to share with the MediaWiki community, and I'd love to hear other perspectives on it. Regards, Taneem Talukdar Ontario, Canada
