I am attempting to install MediaWiki-1.24.2 on a CentOS 7 VM
PHP 5.4.16 (cli) (built: Oct 31 2014 12:59:36) Server version: 5.6.24 MySQL Community Server (GPL)
URL: http://arenagames.us
When I browse to the above URL, I get the following message:
"MediaWiki 1.24.2
LocalSettings.php not found.
Please set up the wiki first."
When I click on 'set up the wiki' I get a blank page, no error messages, with the URL http://arenagames.us/mw-config/index.php
Any advice?

A blank page typically indicates a fatal PHP error. There's a bunch of information on debugging and how to view those errors at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:How_to_debug. Once you have a more specific error message, it should be easier to figure out what's wrong :)

Thanks. I'll look into that. For now I punted and installed 1.19 and it worked like a charm with no errors.

You might also double check that you have the needed version of PHP/database software
