Hi Ron Yes, see Questy Captcha: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmEdit#QuestyCaptcha You can create your own Q/A.
Also see:
This works sometimes also to prevent bots. It can also be altered to block the bot IP address for a small amount of time (optional).
If they still keep coming, you can change the ConfirmEdit type to "ReCaptcha, although I see bots break that one too sometimes but these will help.
Thanks Erik and Mikolka,
I already have ConfirmEdit with ReCaptcha, but lately a lot have been busting through it. I think QuestyCaptcha is what I want.
Thanks!
Ron
Hmm... QuestyCaptcha is working now, but it seems I can only have one type of captcha at a time. I was hoping to have both QuestyCaptcha and ReCaptcha. (On my phpbb forum, I have both an antibot question and recaptcha, and it works pretty well). But wgCaptchaClass is a single value. Is there any way to select both?

Hi Ron,
Yea I think right now only one can be selected. That's a good suggestion though to keep both types of catpchas for account creation. I dont know if another captcha from another extension can be stacked on top of whats already there, if not, you could try coding it yourself if you can.
If they keep breaking ReCpatcha for you (they try to alter their image for time to time to deal with the spammers), one option is to have a "questy" captcha thats hard to figure out for a bot. For example you could say "enter only the numbers in this series of characters: Hello4 this56 is6the7mw4li8st, etc. Or you could try other kinds of captchas (math capchas, based on images). That ConfirmEdit supports that too.
