I just wanted to take a second and say "thanks!" to the developers who have
made this tool possible. Just from my end, it has been tremendously helpful
to myself and hundreds of genealogy researchers/historians (probably
thousands within a year from now). I know that if it wasn't rewarding in
itself, you wouldn't still be working on it, but you have our gratitude, as
well.
Among other things, I can stop using my email client as a storage system
for random bits of knowledge and put it all on the wiki, even if no one
else added material. One of the goals of the website associated with my
mailing list was to save knowledge that appeared in the list postings onto
a an online encyclopedia (as opposed to searching the archives).
Also, I've strarted using a section as a long term notepad, which I can
access whenever the ideas hit, whether I'm at home or work or traveling.
That's limited by the security situation, of course, but is nice for
collaboration.
