ah ha. so as long as i know the db user and password, and my includes - the only modifications i've made - just delete LocalSettings.php? then navigate to domain/wiki ? That would be much easier. Thanks! Oh, then enter the same settings in the installer, and add my includes later? Thanks!

You should really run the 'configuration/setup' of the wiki. You can trigger this by moving the 'LocalSettings.php' out of the way. This will trigger the setup. (Which will upgrade the database). It will also generate a new Localsettings.php file. Carefully merge both versions....
