Hello,
We have an error unresolved, which is very important for us.
The issue is that we have different wikis destined for NGOs,
associations and Foundations. Wikis were made in Spanish at first. Now
we need to translate into Catalan and this is where we have problems.
The wikis are on version 1.26.4 because of the PHP server version.
We installed the correct packages of Universal Language Selector and
Translate. It's all set up, in the wiki is everything right but when we
go to translate we see the error: Error saving translation: Unknown
error: "TPT-unknown-page"
I have seen several pages talking about this error and obviously the wiki page
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Job_queue and we think is probably
a matter of running the runjobs but we spent two last weeks trying to
fix it and we will not have a result. Server where we host the wiki has
a routine cron server running the /maintenance/runjobs.php every 5
minutes, but even then there is no way to leave the error.
You know what could happen? It's very important for us to translate
these wikis into Catalan, but we can't fix this error, and we don't know
where to find a good solution.
Thank you very much

Dear Wikimedia technical community members,
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Code_of_Conduct
The review of the Code of Conduct for Wikimedia technical spaces has been
completed and now it is time to bootstrap its first committee. The
Technical Collaboration team is looking for five candidates to form the
Committee plus five additional auxiliary members. One of them could be you
or someone you know!
You can propose yourself as a candidate and you can recommend others
*privately* at
techconductcandidates AT wikimedia DOT org
We want to form a very diverse list of candidates reflecting the variety of
people, activities, and spaces in the Wikimedia technical community. We are
also open to other candidates with experience in the field. Diversity in
the Committee is also a way to promote fairness and independence in their
decisions. This means that no matter who you are, where you come from, what
you work on, or for how long, you are a potential good member of this
Committee.
The main requirements to join the Committee are a will to foster an open
and welcoming community and a commitment to making participation in
Wikimedia technical projects a respectful and harassment-free experience
for everyone. The committee will handle reports of unacceptable behavior,
will analyze the cases, and will resolve on them according to the Code of
Conduct. The Committee will also handle proposals to amend the Code of
Conduct for the purpose of increasing its efficiency. The term of this
first Committee will be one year.
Once we have a list of 5 + 5 candidates, we will announce it here for
review. You can learn more about the Committee and its selection process at
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Code_of_Conduct/Committee and you can ask
questions in the related Talk page (preferred) or here.
You can also track the progress of this bootstrapping process at
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Talk:Code_of_Conduct#Bootstrapping_the_Code_…
PS: We have many technical spaces and reaching to all people potentially
interested is hard! Please help spreading this call.

Folks,
Wondering if anyone might know how or why this error happens and what I
might do to alleviate it.
This code: {{coord|36|52|46.92|N|83|17|30.12|W|}} produces the following
output in a page along with the associated Fatal Error message.
36°52′46.92″N 83°17′30.12″W
Fatal error: The format of the coordinate could not be determined.
Parsing failed.
I have ParsingFunctions installed, Template:Coordinate and
Extension:GeoData.
Regardless whether using decimal degrees or degrees minute/seconds the
error persists.
I am running
MediaWiki 1.29.0-wmf.14 (ec6907e)
PHP 7.0.15-0ubuntu0.16.04.4 (apache2handler)
MariaDB 10.1.20-MariaDB-1~xenial
ICU 55.1
LuaSandbox 2.0.13-alpha
Lua 5.1.5
However this error, I believe, has been prevalent since 1.27.
Thanks for you time and thoughts.
Chap.
Heiya Antoine,
this is not really a Semantic MediaWiki specific question, thus I am
also forwarding this to the general MediaWiki list to broaden the
audience and attention for your question.
Personally I do not like auto translated content and rather have no
translation than an automated one. However having this if you push
massive amounts of pages and at the same time providing an approximate
idea about its contents is all about could indeed be a solution. A
matter of taste and objective.
So if you think 1 or 2 is ideal for you you will most probably have to
look for a new maintainer or ask the old one to fluff things. More or
less a matter of money and/or goodwill.
Suggestions 3 to 5 are basically the same. Just depending if you want to
install pre-bundled software or not. Here you need people to do the work.
Cheers Karsten

I have created a form and template to create pages in another namespace.
When the page is first created there is no edit selection or edit page selection under page tools.
I run the runJobs.php and the edit page selection appears but no edit still.
Regular pages in the namespace are fine.
Enable error reporting and nothing shows
MediaWiki 1.28.0
Page Forms 4.0.2 (fefd6a0)
Has anyone run into this issue?
Thanks,
Phil
