Can VisualEditor/parsoid be installed on FreeBSD server

Hi list, I haven't found much documentation on installing VisualEditor on a FreeBSD server. In fact, I only found this one (in German): http://wiki.stura.htw-dresden.de/index.php/Server/MediaWiki It works fine until I run the "npm install" command in the /usr/local/www/parsoid directory. Here I always get a segfault and no debug file. If I run the same command elsewhere, I get an ordinary error message (no valid json file) and a debug log file. Any suggestions? wikieditor not loading

I have upgraded to MediaWiki 1.25.5 and the wikieditor toolbar stopped loading. I use the editor in semantic MediaWiki and I get an error -> jquery.wikiEditor:Error Module jquery.wikiEditor has failed dependencies When editing a page with edit I get this error -> MediaWiki:Edittools.js&action=raw type=text/javascript Failed to load resource Thank you for your help! Password Reset Question for MW 1.26.2

Dear Teammates, I am logged on as an administrator and bureaucrat to MW 1.26.2. I am trying to reset the password of TestUser using the special page: http://myserver.com/test1262/index.php?title=Special%3APasswordReset , and I have also checked the box "View the resulting email?" on this page. I have the following 2 properties set in LocalSettings.php. $wgGroupPermissions['bureaucrat']['passwordreset'] = true; $wgGroupPermissions['administrator']['passwordreset'] = true; So TestUser does not have the optional email filled in, but I would still like to view the email that would have been sent to TestUser so that I can send him the temporary password. When I select "Reset password", I do not get an error message, nor do I get the view of the resulting email. I must need another setting to see the email in my browser. What is it ? thanks, Lori

Best way or tips for multi wikis ?

Hello, I installed Mediawiki 1.25.5 from sources on a Linux server (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS).No problems anywhere and no warning. I also activated HTTPS login and OpenLDAP authentication. All is OK. But I'm a noob with mediawiki and I just started to learn it. Now, I try to configure mediawiki to do "farming": several wikis on the same mediawiki installation (same core and differents parameters). Here are some informations : - I'm root on my server. - The installation directory is /home/web/www/mediawiki - The real root of the web server is /home/web/www/ So I want to use several wikis accessibles with the following urls : - mediawiki main : http://sites.foo.bar/mediawiki - mediawiki monkey : http://sites.foo.bar/monkey - mediawiki donkey : http://sites.foo.bar/donkey - mediawiki trump : http://sites.foo.bar/trump I don't know if the better way is to use plugins (I tried SimpleFarm but I didn't understand all the documentation because it was not enough "step by step" for me) or to do everything manually (with symlinks? Another method? How?) I thank you for your help. Laurent.

Three Wikis, three LocalSettings.php

Colleagues: I'm looking for some "best practices" advice here. I have three Wikis, Dev, Test, and Prod. Dev is the sandbox. Test is for user-acceptance. Prod is the public face - exactly what you would expect. For the most part, these Wikis share an identical code base on Git branch "master." Development is done in branches that are pulled into master as user acceptance is completed. There are differences between the Wikis environments, and so I've got three LocalSettings.php files. I can't just pull the Dev into Test or the Test into Prod because of differences in the LocalSettings (database connections, error_reporting, etc). Right now I'm doing a manual process outside of Git control. This makes me itch. I would like to keep LocalSettings.php under Git version control with the rest of the code, but that means three files with the same name. Would I be on firm ground if I modified LocalSettings.php to automatically detect which Wiki is in play and adjust its own settings? How do others handle issues like this?

Upload images integrated with VisualEditor Extension

Hello, I'm using mediawiki 1.26 with VisualEditor. Upload files are enabled, but only by the link on left side "Upload files". First, I would like to enable upload file directly on Visual Editor, like mediawiki.org website has, you can see the screenshot of what I need here ( http://imgur.com/6tGnZkF). Second... in the same website I could see that drag and drop images probably work, I would like to know how it works, because I had problems before with images with equal names... where the new image replace the old image and this can generate problems because images can have the same name but with completely different purposes. This upload extension that enables drag and drop are dealing with this kind of problem? Thanks
