When MW 1.20.6 came out, I decided to upgrade to it from 1.20.5, and I decided to run the web updater afterwards.
All I got was a blank screen no matter what I tried, so I reverted back to 1.20.5 and everything was normal again.
I'm not sure what happened, but I thought I'd let everyone on the mailing list know that there might be a problem with the newest security release.
P.S. - Not really related to the above, but still MediaWiki related: Does anyone know what happened to the MediaWiki Users forum? It's been down for awhile, apparently due to database issues, and I was wondering if anyone here has more information on what happened.
Teammates,
On a Windows 2008 server, using MediaWiki v1.19.2, we are having troubles getting the
Email Confirmation mechanism to work. A message is displayed that the confirmation was
sent, however it never comes to the email address it was sent to. I believe it is the script
UserMailer.php.
Does anyone have any ideas about how I could debug where the email problem lies ?
I can send an email using a php script evoked through the browser.
It is a simple script like this that arrives correctly.
<? phpinfo();
mail ("user1(a)domain.com", "Test", "Hi from PHP!",
"Bcc: user2(a)domain.com\r\n\r\nSending email from PHP.\r\n");
?>
thx,
Lori
Hello All,
Is it possible to create links on the top right corner on
the Title name bar of the Main Page.
I would like to rename the Main Page as my own age and add different links
at the same row as main page title bar but at the top right corner.

Achar

This is a notice that on Tuesday, May 21st between 20:00-21:00 UTC
(1-2pm PDT) Wikimedia Foundation will release security updates for
current and supported branches of the MediaWiki software. Downloads
and patches will be available at that time, with the git repositories
updated later that afternoon. Although MediaWiki does not have the
vulnerable feature enabled by default, most wiki using common advanced
features will want to patch for this issue.

Thanks!
I had a miserable time skinning a much earlier version of MW, and my client wants me to work on it some more, so your work is appreciated!

I have to delay the release of MediaWiki 1.21 again because of a
logistics problem.
I am used to hearing logistics in the context of shipping physical
objects -- in the American trucking industry, for example -- so I can't
help but feel a little strange saying "logistics". I had to go look up
the term and found this definition:
The detailed coordination of a complex operation involving many
people, facilities, or supplies.
That is about right.
I apologize for the confusion.

Mark, I am not sure if I understand you well..
Holomorphic extension of the logistic sequence (for the complex argument)
is described at http://www.ils.uec.ac.jp/~dima/PAPERS/2009logistie.pdf
but what application the logistic operator may have for mediawiki?
What for do you need the complex operations?
I thought, the PHP supports only the real arithmetics..
By the way, how can I numerate sections in a\
mediawiki article, beginning with zero?
If there exist any equivalent of the latex command \setcounter{section} ?
