Recent parser change regarding tildes in comments?

Has the parser just been changed with regards to tildes (~~~~) inside HTML comments? It appears they used to be ignored, and are now suddenly being replaced en masse the next time someone edits the page (and can't be easily reverted - it just changes the sig to the reverter's instead). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_creation/2006-06-02-ear… for an example.

I distinctly remember there was a way to add a title to a special page simply by entering in a URL, then adding the title to the wiki edit field, and then saving. The new "writing a new special page" how-to is very confusing - and it wants me to write PHP to get the title to show up. There was an easier way... I can't find this how-to anywhere- though I'm sure it used to exist. FX can you walk me through how you've added a wiki page title to a special page? Mysql ISAM vs InnoDB

$wgDBtransactions gets set to true if using InnoDB tables. Is there an advantage to using InnoDB tables? The disadvantage is that with MySQL there is a file, ibdata1, that seems to grow endlessly if InnoDB tables are used. Different URL path for different namespace?

Kind of a newbie question... I'm not even sure of the appropriate taxonomy for my request, maybe that's why Google didn't help. Using last stable (1.16.2 I believe), I'm trying to achieve this: Got a default setup, Mediawiki installed in /w, Apache conf edited with an Alias. So now my wiki is accessible at http://domain.tld/wiki/ I would like to link a specific namespace (let's say "bar") to its own URL, outside of /foo/. Ok, to rephrase, hopefully better: I would like: domain.tld/wiki/Bar:SomePage to be in fact: domain.tld/Bar/SomePage And if Apache could rewrite on the client side /wiki/Bar:SomePage into /Bar/SomePage that would be even better, albeit not a deal breaker. Without breaking anything in MW of course. And if the Recent or Search tool return the Bar:SomePage that's not an issue, I don't want to rewrite the MW core :) Anyone got an idea?

exclude template from category list

Hi, is it possible to configure category output, c.f. in a way that certain namespaces are not included? Specifically, I would like to create category entries through templates, ie. every page using the template would be automatically in the respective category. The template itself, however, should not show up at the category page. I searched extensions already but could not find anything appropriate so far. Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance Bernhard

Problems with qgis.core in eclipse

Hello everybody, I've got a problem, which is simple, but in spending 14hours in solving(googling, trying, ...) I havent't found a way to get it work. I want to write a QGIS PlugIn in eclise IDE - but i cant't do anything, because: No module named qgis.core (tested on eclipse, IDLE, pyscripter) My QGIS ist in C:\Program Files (x86)\Quantum GIS Copiapo, Python: C:\Python27 So I tested all ways I found in the web, Martin Dobias's blog and so on, updates everything, changed and added a lot of Paths and PYTHONPATHS (14h...) but maybe I'm just a little bit stupid and just didn't took the right path - any suggestions, which Path it should be, please mail back. Please.I n [eclipse -> preferences ->pydev] I've already added every Folder of QGIS, PtQt, Python27 - didn't help. Is it possible that I understand something wrong? I've tried to download libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll and add it seperatly. Nothing. I may use another IDE than eclipse, I just like it, but if it's not possible with it (what I don't believe) I can use anotherone. My first System ist Win7 x64, my second is winXP x86, it does't work one anyone. Please help me to find a way (or Path) make it working, it's really important for me. If you need some other specifications I didn't list here, please let me know. Images missing after WM 1.17 upgrade

I am in the process of upgrading from MediaWiki 1.13.3 (r45790), PHP 5.2.11, MySQL 5.1.42 to MediaWiki 1.17.0, PHP 5.2.13, MySQL 5.1.47 on a Fedora 11 server. I have replicated the production server in a virtual machine to ensure the upgrade went well. This site is an internal company Wiki and is not accessible externally. On the replica virtual machine, I have followed the instructions at the bottom of http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Upgrading, I have made several attempts using minor variations. After all of these attempts, none of the images in my Wiki will display, I just get the filename listed on the page. If I go to the Special:UncategorizedFiles page, none of the thumbnails are displayed, again just filenames. If I go to the File: page for an image, the image is not displayed, but all the info appears correct. For example: File:BaselineDiag.png Size of this preview: 800 × 269 pixels Full resolution‎ (4,142 × 1,393 pixels, file size: 439 KB, MIME type: image/png) Baseline Diagram from Visio I have attempted to run the "maintenance/rebuildImages.php" script with no success, no output at all, which concerned me. I have attempted this with both $wgUseImageMagick = true; and $wgImageMagickConvertCommand = "/usr/bin/convert"; set and with these entries commented out. The images (445) all displayed fine before the upgrade but not after. api.php giving 500 errors

Running into api.php returning an 500 error when attempting to run the following query api.php?action=query&meta=siteinfo The exact error is : Fatal error: Call to a member function getPrefixedText() on a non-object in /var/www/html/SupportWiki/includes/api/ApiQuerySiteinfo.php on line 110 I have installed an "Test" database along side my existing and if I change to the "fresh" database it works without fail. I THINK the error is related to $mainPage = Title :: newFromText( wfMsgForContent( 'mainpage' ) ); what should I be looking for inside my database as switching to the "new" instance resolves the API issue. Adding a Message to the Account Creation Form

Hi all, I'd appreciate your help: I'd like to add a message to the account creation form. The message contains an internal link, it should appear right above the submit button. The hook I tried is $template->addInputItem, although no interaction is actually needed. The problem is that whatever way I try to output the message, the link appears as plain text. This is what I did: $wgHooks['UserCreateForm'][] = 'efAddTerms'; function efAddTerms (&$template) { $template->addInputItem( 'terms', false, 'checkbox', 'Create-terms' ); return true; } Create-terms is the system-message containing the link. how to replace output of "$this->html('catlinks'); " in my skin with a plain list of category links?

Hey, for my skin I would like to move the category links of a page into the sidebar, looking like the other boxes in there. However, the markup is not really suitable for styling since I don't want the | seperators and the : at the beginning. I would prefer having an <ul> with all the links inside. How can I do that with as little php as possible? Thanks! Wilhelm

AntiBot throws Hook errors

I can't seem to get rid of the following errors for my users. API Upload file throws uploaddisabled

Im trying to upload a file via the API, called internally using fauxRequest. Im trying a test just using the URL upload on the file http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bc/Wiki.png But I keep getting an error. -> uploaddisabled: Uploads are not enabled. Make sure $wgEnableUploads is set to true in LocalSettings.php and the PHP ini setting file_uploads is true wgEnableUploads is set to true and I am able to upload files with the web interface. Im running MW 1.16 Thanks

Increment page counter through API

Is there a way to increment the page counter through the API? I have an external page that pulls content from the wiki. Im testing a CMS that uses mediawiki as the engine. And accessing pages through the API. But Id like to increment that page when it is accessed. Any ideas?

First thing to check: are the URL paths correct? Right-click on one of those names and see if it offers to view or copy the URL. Is it the path you expect? If correct, are the files actually there? Hello how to backup of mediawiki with oracle. i mean which we upload any image it will create the folder temp in client side.now assume if we published on a server how that thing import in that server. thanks RS
