I have a weird computer in which you can NOT install additional software except that made by HumanWare, my computer's manufacturer. It's an expensive, rare computer that only visually impaired people like me know about. It's called a BrailleNote.
I really hate the format of MediaWiki.org/download. The silly PHP program is in a GZ zip. Some of our computers will not uncompress it, why not use a .zip or PK ZIP or whatever they call it.
Hi Siebrand,
1. I don't know yet whether we'll be able to videotape and put online all
the talks, but we're talking about it - it would certainly be nice.
2. Consider it done. :)
By the way, you and other people living in Europe who can't make it to the
conference are in luck, because we're planning to have a 2nd SMWCon in
mid-September, in Amsterdam:
http://semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/SMWCon_Fall_2010_in_Amsterdam
That one should be nice - I'm told it might even have some corporate
sponsorship. (!)

Teammates,
Do the security updates described below for MediaWiki version 1.15.2 pertain to
every version of MediaWiki released up to this point ? Or do they pertain to the
1.15.x branch only ?
Thank you for sharing this information if you know it.
Lori

This is a security and bugfix release of MediaWiki 1.15.2.
Two security issues were discovered:
A CSS validation issue was discovered which allows editors to display external images in wiki pages. This is a privacy concern on public wikis, since a malicious user may link to an image on a server they control, which would allow that attacker to gather IP addresses and other information from users of the public wiki. All sites running publicly-editable MediaWiki installations are advised to upgrade. All versions of MediaWiki (prior to this one) are affected.
A data leakage vulnerability was discovered in thumb.php which affects wikis which restrict access to private files using img_auth.php, or some similar scheme. All versions of MediaWiki since 1.5 are affected.
Deleting thumb.php is a suitable workaround for private wikis which do not use $wgThumbnailScriptPath or $wgLocalRepo['thumbScriptUrl'].
Alternatively, you can upgrade to MediaWiki 1.15.2 or backport the patch below to whatever version of MediaWiki you are using.
MediaWiki is not compatible with PHP 5.3.1 due to a bug in that release, which is fixed in PHP 5.3.2. This release of MediaWiki will refuse to upgrade if an affected version of PHP is present. Note that local or distribution-specific backports of the PHP bug fix are supported. See http://bugs.php.net/50394 for details.

Hi everyone,
Thank you for reading my post.
I am dealing with the following "infobox"
(I am sorry, it is a French one, I hope you won't mind... :-(
but I couldn't find an English equivalent...)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please, have a look at lines 8 and 9.
Can you see those two things "{frpopd|11}" and "frpopdata"?
I am wondering what these things are (templates?)?
and where I can find some documentation about it?
The visual results are respectively:
- 56 hab./km²
- 345 779 hab. (2007)
if I am not mistaken...
I am wondering where is the data stored and retrieved?
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,

Is there a working extension, which links every word which is the title
of an article in my wiki?
I've already tried this:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:AutoLink extension, but it links
for example the article "c" if a word contains the letter c.
