Dear All,
Is it possible to link a webpage and have that webpage thumb nailed as an image?
I can add a link to a webpage but would like to see a thumbnail with the link.
Thanks
David

Perhaps I am wrong, but I think you will need to program an Extension.
The following Syntax will NOT work:
[http://ix.de [[File:2009-06-04_pic.png]]]
I have take more than 20 minutes to search
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Configuration_settings
but I could not find anything to
- use external images
- create external hyperlinks with thumbnails
Therefore you have to write your own extension, which should not be
too hard in this matter.
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Extensions
Regards,
Claus
PS: If you have never written an Extension, here is a short example:
---
$wgExtensionFunctions[] = 'example';
function example()
{
global $wgParser;
$wgParser->setHook('example', 'process_input');
}
function process_input($input, $args, $parser)
{
return 'Hello World! Your input: ' . htmlspecialchars($input);
}

When creating a new thread, do not reply to an existing message and change the

Messages posted to the list have the "Reply-To" header set to the mailing list,
which means that by default, replies will go to the entire list. If you are
posting a reply which is only interesting to the original poster, and not the

avoids cluttering the list with irrelevant traffic.

For the MWSearch extension for Lucene, where can I find instructions for using
the MWSearchUpdater.php and MWSearchUpdateHooks.php features?
I'd like to update the Lucene index on every article save/move/delete. But I can't get this working.
I have Lucene 2.1 running just fine with MediaWiki 1.15, serving search queries.
I also have PEAR XML_RPC installed. But when I try:
$ php luceneUpdate.php status
Unknown XML-RPC error
LocalSettings.php contains:
# Lucene search
$wgSearchType = 'LuceneSearch';
$wgLuceneHost = 'localhost';
$wgLucenePort = 8123;
require_once("extensions/MWSearch/MWSearch.php");
$wgLuceneSearchVersion = 2.1;
require_once("extensions/MWSearch/MWSearchUpdateHook.php");
I noticed that MWSearchUpdater.php has $mwSearchUpdatePort = 8124 rather than 8123,
but when I change it to 8123, I get a 404 and lsearchd says "Unknown request /SearchUpdater".
Thanks for any help.

Hello,
I have again to import a lot of users.
I have installed two extensions : MassUserImport and ImportUsers.
The first one is the one that suits my needs the most. I need the
possibility to import users without giving passwords, and the
MassUserImport is great for that, as it sends an email to the user
registered with an email, and the option to choose a new pwd. Though I
would need to give usernames other than the first part of the email, as
it is done.
But I don't know how that would be done..

No wonder RSS replays every day on smaller wikis:
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20601
(Do not put "diff generator" comments into feeds)
You won't be affected on larger wikis, but with wikis with just a couple
of changes a week, you'll go out of your mind... can someone please
implement the fix?
Hi,
Is it possible to show Visio vsd files inline in a Wiki page?
The syntax [[Image:Test.vsd]] gives me only a link, instead of showing the file itself.

Hi,
I'm working on what I think is a relatively simple extension to insert some javascript and css links into the head element of a particular page. I'm pretty new to MediaWiki so I'm sure that I'm just missing something here. Anyway, in the code below, the extjsHead method is my preferred method of inserting the links within the head tags in my page. However, nothing is ever inserted in the head tag when I use $wgOut->addScript(...). The only way I've found to do this is to use the extjsBody method to insert the script tags within the body of my page.
Am I just missing something or is it not possible to use $wgOut->addScript in this manner?
