Hello,
I have two wikis, with two databases (no prefixes), sharing the *user*
and *user_groups* tables using a VIEW. To accomplish this, I created
wiki1 as one normally would, nothing special there. When wiki2 came on
board, I dropped the tables "user" and "user_groups" for wiki2 and
granted a view for those tables into wiki1:
mysql> CREATE VIEW wiki2:user_groups AS SELECT * From wiki1:user_groups
and
mysql> CREATE VIEW wiki2:user AS SELECT * From wiki2:user
(Solution borrowed from http://www.mwusers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2092)
Now, this has been working very well for about 6 months in 2 different
environments (PROD and DEV). I recently received a report that the
"List Users" special page in wiki2 (in PROD, of course) is no longer
working, and is throwing an error.:
A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in
the software. The last attempted database query was:
(SQL query hidden)
from within function "IndexPager::reallyDoQuery (UsersPager)". MySQL
returned error "1221: Incorrect usage of index hints and VIEW (localhost)".
The rest of the wiki works just fine. Standard SQL queries on the
tables work just fine. The List Users special page loads just fine for
wiki1, and there are no other (apparent) problems with wiki2. DEV is
ticking along just fine. Same extensions, same code, same versions,
same host...aside from content, there is no other difference between
these wikis.
Another thing to consider is that I am consolidating the wikis shortly,
within a couple of months, but I need to explain this, if nothing
else. :-)
Does anyone have any insight into what could have happened here?
Versions:
MW - 1.13.1
MySQL - 5.1.30-community
PHP 5.2.6
Many thanks!!
John

Hello
I did a XML backup of a Wiki database using phpMyAdmin.
Then I tried to import it in a new empty Wiki.
I tried
php importDump.php wiki.xml
1. I got a series of Warnings I do not understand :
PHP Warning: xml_parse(): Unable to call handler ()
in ../mediawiki/includes/specials/SpecialImport.php on line 560
2 an an error :
Erreur lors de l’analyse de l’import XML à la ligne 6586, col 77 (octet
255543; "</cl_sortkey>
") : Invalid character
(Error when analyzing the XML import a line 6586, col 77 ...)
Is this procedure the good one to import such an XML database ?
Thanks
François Colonna
Hi, I got the following error message lately when trying to save my
articles:
*Not Found*
The requested URL /J.B._Jeyaratnam was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an
ErrorDocument to handle the request.
How can it be not found when I am trying to save, not to search?

Hi
Is it possible to automatically insert a list of all of the page titles in a
category into a page other than the category page itself? I've tried using
the code {{Category:xxx}}, but this doesn't work.

I have a site which is not permanently connected to the internet.
I'd like to allow Wikipedia usage for users when they have no internet
access, by using a local server with a copy of Wikipedia content.
How can I import the whole (English) Wikipedia?
I googled a bit, I see http://download.wikimedia.org/enwiki/latest/
contains the latest dump of Wikipedia, but it's still not very clear how
to import all this into a fresh MediaWiki installation.
Any helpful hand out there?

Kedves Mentorok!
Együttműködő partnert keresek egy egyedülálló tartalmú, (részben) szabad

Főleg a "wikis" kivitelezésben, és nem a tartalmi részben (ami nagyrészt
kész van) szorulok segítségre.

Hi
Using the CreateBox extension I can insert some wikitext into a page to
create a button which, when pressed, creates a new page with the contents of
another page preloaded. It would be nice to have this button in the sidebar,
but is this possible? Inserting the wikitext into MedaiWiki:Sidebar doesn't
work.

I'd like my wiki name, "My Wiki," to be in the title bar, but I'd like the
namespace to be "mWiki". On my PC version, I've set $wgSitename to be
"mWiki", and I read somewhere on the MediaWiki site that you can have the
name in the title bar be different. Alternatively, I think you may be able
to have $wgSitename set to "My Wiki" and the namespace be something
different. How can I go about doing this?
Thanks,
Phil
Wierd.

Subject: upgrading from V1.13.4 to V1.14, getting fatal error
To: MediaWiki announcements and site admin list <

Hello -
I'm upgrading from V1.13.4 to V1.14. I have been doing upgrades successfully
since V1.12, so I'm not sure what's wrong.
This is the error I get:
*Fatal error*: Undefined class constant 'FOR_THIS_USER' in *
/home/platfor1/public_html/wiki/includes/Article.php* on line *440*
We're using a web hosting service, so I do the installation via the website.
The following is a copy of the installation page - there are a couple of odd
"*Notice*" messages. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Evelyn
