http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Job_openings/Code_Maintenance_Engineer
The core purpose of this job is to review and resolve bug reports,
enhancement requests, code changes and extensions relevant to
Wikimedia's free education projects, and to implement systematic
testing procedures. This is a very hands-on role for an experienced
software engineer who is interested in achieving high impact in a
fast-paced environment with a public benefit mission. If you have
existing development experience with MediaWiki, that's a huge plus.
:-)
We will take remote applicants into consideration, and we'll also
consider supporting relocation of the right candidate - our preference
is for this person to be based in the San Francisco office of the
Wikimedia Foundation.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but it may fill you purpose: if
you have an RSS feed on changes, you'll see a list of all additions
and changes.
Mac Mail integrates an RSS feed that you can use to individually mark
changes as read or unread, and also flag notable changes. This is all
I need to keep up with everything happening on several low-volume wikis.
Hi all,
I created a form with extension:Simple Forms. I use
extension:ExtAuthDB and extension:AdminWhiteList to read users and
their permission.
I'm using mediawiki 1.14 release. I created a javascript code that I
added into index.php so that it is always loaded.
Well, I tested that with admin this js code works instead, with simple
user this js code does not work.
I have got other mediawiki site with 1.14 release with wiki user and
permission system; so that I tested form with extension:Simple Forms
and javascript code. js code works with admin and simple user.
I tested form with extension:Simple Forms and javascript code (plus
extension:ExtAuthDB and extension:AdminWhiteList to read users and
their permission) in 1.15.1 release and js code works only with
administrator..
js code works with admin with $wgUseAjax = true; line and $wgUseAjax =
false; line.
Can you help me about where I could search error about permissions/js?
My js code is simple:
function multrtpcr(f,i) {
var A, B, C;
if (i == 0) {
A = document.forms[f].a.value;
B = document.forms[f].b.value;
C = (A * B);
document.forms[f].c.value = C;
} else if (i == 1) {
A = document.forms[f].d.value;
B = document.forms[f].e.value;
C = (A * B);
document.forms[f].f.value = C;
} else if (i == 2) {
A = document.forms[f].g.value;
B = document.forms[f].h.value;
C = (A * B);
document.forms[f].i.value = C;
}
document.forms[f].tipo_abb.value = 'RTA'+A;
}
Hello,
I remember to have seen this question before, but there was no answer on
the list yet:
Is there a possibility to change the display size of latex-formula? We
have a lot of formula included in text, and they are way too big.
Thanks a lot for your help
Irene
Welcome to mediawiki-l. This mailing list exists for discussion and questions
about the MediaWiki software[0]. Important MediaWiki-related announcements
(such as new versions) are also posted to this list.

If you only wish to receive announcements, you should subscribe to

MediaWiki development discussion, and all Wikimedia technical questions, should
be directed to the wikitech-l[2] mailing list.
Several other MediaWiki-related lists exist:

Posting to the list.
Before posting to this list, please read the MediaWiki FAQ[10]. Many common
questions are answered here. You may also search the list archives to see if
your question has been asked before.
Please try to ask your question in a way that enables people to answer you.
Provide all relevant details, explain your problem clearly, etc. You may
wish to read [13], which explains how to ask questions well.
To post to the list, send mail to <mediawiki-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org>. This is a
public list, so you should not include confidential information in mails you
send.
When replying to an existing thread, use the "Reply" or "Followup" feature of
your mail client, so that clients that understand threading can sort your
message properly. When quoting other messages, please use the "inline" quoting
style[11], for clarity.
When creating a new thread, do not reply to an existing message and change the
subject. This will confuse peoples' mail readers, and will result in fewer
people reading your mail. Instead, compose a new message for your post.
Messages posted to the list have the "Reply-To" header set to the mailing list,
which means that by default, replies will go to the entire list. If you are
posting a reply which is only interesting to the original poster, and not the
list in general, you should change the reply to only go to that person. This
avoids cluttering the list with irrelevant traffic.

Thanks to all who've helped me in the past! I'm returning the favour to all of you by sharing some small extensions:
Personal notepad, accessible only to the owner:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Personal_Notepad
Email to specific users (wiki editable list) for activity by new and anonymous users:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Recent_Activity_Notify
(useful for small wikis)
Recent Changes Cleanup:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Recent_Changes_Cleanup
(just marks an RC line as coming from a bot so it wont appear in the default RC view; also useful for small wikis)
I love the "wiki editable list" feature which I copied from the SpamBlacklist extension. Using this feature, I could create pages on the wiki that acted as editable "system variables". I could edit a wiki page and modify the behavior of the wiki e.g. if a certain page was edited to contain a line "refuse anons", the wiki would go into a no-anon mode, without me having to get into LocalSettings.php.
Brion, thanks for your kind help too! I was sad to know you were leaving MW/WP but then I was glad to know you'll still be around. Thanks and good luck for your new position!
I am trying to enable SVG on my wiki but I keep getting the error
message pasted below. I have the following in my localsettings.php

$wgUseImageMagick = true;
$wgImageMagickConvertCommand = "/usr/bin/convert";
$wgImageMagickTempDir = true;
$wgUseCommaCount = true;
$wgFileExtensions[] = 'svg';
$wgAllowTitlesInSVG = true;
$wgSVGConverter = 'ImageMagick';

Dear All,
We currently use the "Gallery" function to show pictures in a gallery page. After uploading the images the image and image text are added, as per below
<gallery border perRow="5">
Image:LMDC_elevation 1.jpg|Elevation to Carlisle Road
Image:LMDC_corridor.jpg|Main Corridor
Image:LMDC_store 1.jpg|Storage Racking
Image:LMDC_store 2.jpg|Storage Racking
Image:LMDC_elevation 2.jpg|Elevation to Carlisle Road
</gallery>
I cant centre the text within a gallery, does anyone know how to do this.
Many Thanks
David
