My predecessor setup the LDAP extension, with the stub in
LocalSettings.php, setting it up so that authentication with Active
Directory server is required to edit our site. Anybody can read it
without authentication (internal use only though).
The LDAP server where we are doing our authentication had to change
certificate, and now when user attempts to login for edit purposes they
get Login error: Incorrect password entered. Please try again.
When I turn on LDAPDebug = 3 I get a bunch of messages, ending in:
Binding as the user<br>
Failed to bind as user(a)domain.name<br <mailto:earussel@<br> >
LDAP-Errorno: -1<br>
LDAP-Error: Can't contact LDAP server
I've got the new certificate downloaded from the server, but I can't
figure out where to put it and for sure what format. Anybody else had
to deal with this yet?
Thanks,
Beth
Hi Mediawiki admins
I am a new contributer to the de.wikipedia.org. I thought before
self-hosting I should learn basic user knowledge.
As a newbie I have a couple of questions in authoring (about category
tags, wikitext, etc). I didn't found any mailing list or a web-based
forum for that kind of questions.
How do I receive help?
cheers
Simon

hi !
I would like to resolve this nasty problem, i don't understand what is
the really cause :
I have two site installed on my web server :
/mediawiki
with files are on /usr/share/mediawiki
/egroupware
with files are on /usr/share/egroupware
When i surf on egroupware it cause a crach of the template parser on
mediawiki and my template are not interpreted correctly
as an result example i have a : "about {{sitename}}" in the footer of
my mediawiki pages.
{{sitename}} template is not interpreted and replaced by "about
okparanoidwiki" assuming that okparanoidwiki is the name of my wiki...
i have one apache configuration files for each site :
#mediawiki.conf
Alias /mediawiki /usr/share/mediawiki
<Directory /usr/share/mediawiki/>
Options +FollowSymLinks
AllowOverride All
php_value memory_limit 32M
php_value upload_max_filesize 8M
</Directory>
----
#egroupware.conf
Alias /egroupware /usr/share/egroupware
<Directory "/usr/share/egroupware/">
AllowOverride None
php_value memory_limit 32M
php_value max_execution_time 60
php_flag register_globals Off
php_flag magic_quotes_gpc Off
php_flag magic_quotes_runtime Off
# settings for the file upload, you might increase them further
php_value upload_max_filesize 16M
# session handling: now the check for expired sessions is done
on every 10th session creation
php_flag session.use_trans_sid Off
php_value session.gc_probability 1
php_value session.gc_divisor 10
# multibyte extension: needed for utf-8
php_value mbstring.func_overload 7
</Directory>
<Location /egroupware/rpc.php>
php_value mbstring.func_overload 0
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Location>
Could someone please help to resolve this problem ??
I will really appreciate some help !
Best Regards
Christian Schneider
I urgently need to know how to purge all history files on my wiki. I'm

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to include svg in mediawiki?
I wrote some hook function to process a special markup, which returns
something like this:
$svg = '<div><object data="images/test.svg" width=100% height=100%
type="image/svg+xml"/></div>';
return ($svg);
In the page view this code brings me to the new page: Images/test.svg
test.svg does exist in images directory. I guess the path in PHP is
incorrect? Can anyone point me out the error I made? Thanks.

Hi!
I have a page, that include a 300 row-table. That's why the page is very
slow. I would like to partition this table.
How can I implement a dynamic menu to solve it?
Thanks,

Hi,
Can anyone give me some tips on how to connect an external MySQL db to
mediawiki?
I need to display some contents from an external database in a
mediawiki page. The contents of the external database will change
independently of the wiki and no one shall be able to write to the
external db from the wiki pages. Thanks.
