How to override links opening in new window?

Running v1.8.2. If my wiki is set up to open external links in a new window (which I basically want to keep in place), is there a way to have external links *not* open in a new window on a case-by-case basis? Thanks. Tim

Some more info on the problem... When I type the direct address of the forum (forum.mywiki.com/phpBB/index.php) it works but there are no images. If I type the location of an image into the address bar, "http://forum.mywiki.com/phpBB/templates/subSilver/images/folder_big.gif", I get the same error as I get below, a 404 Not Found error. I bet the issue is caused because I have the MediaWiki installed on the same server. Any other ideas? I talked to my hosting provider (siteground.com) and they instructed me to do the following. 1. Go to cPanel and create the forum.mywiki.com subdomain This made a "forum" folder in my "public_html" directory 2. Best way to add menu to sidebar

Running v1.8.2. What's the best way to add another sidebar module. I use the top one, renamed, and the search box. But I've commented out the Tools module. I want to add a new module with a title and then links. Also, if my wiki is set up to open external links in a new window, is there a way to have external links *not* open in a new window on a case-by-case basis? Thanks. Tim

Subdomain for a forum in a MediaWiki install

Hello all, I am new to hosting so please bear with me, thanks! I have mediawiki installed on a server with short URL's (mywiki.com/Main_Page). I want to have a forum running on the sub-domain forum.mywiki.com. Using cPanel I set this sub-domain up. cPanel created me a "forum" directory in my "public_html" folder in my server ("public_html" is the same folder that my Wiki is in). I created a quick "index.html" file in the "forum" folder to test this out. When I go to "forum.mywiki.com/index.html" I get a 404 "Not found" error. I am positive "index.html" exists in this directory. Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong? Thanks a lot! Philip B

insert page with same title from another namespace in all pages

Hello, I need to insert the Head:My_Title in the My_Title page. But I want it for all pages (so the template idea doesn't seem to be a solution). What kind of code should I use, so that the Head:My_Title is inserted "as is" without any parsing (because it is a javascript)? Thank you for any help, or for pointing me to an extension doing just this. François

The dump likely includes database names from the database being dumped. Even if you change a name readily visible at the top of the dump, their could be other instances further down. "Find and replace" (ctrl + H in Windows) can be used to replace every instance of the original database name in only one operation.

Page title not displaying properly

The page title in our wiki is not displaying properly. The text appearing in the window title bar is different from what is saved in our MediaWiki:Pagetitle page. http://www.researchintelligentdesign.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Pagetitle I've tried to simply reinput and save the proper information, but to no avail. We are running MediaWiki: 1.6.8, with PHP: 4.4.4 (cgi) and MySQL: 4.1.21-standard-log. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated!
