Greetings!
We are moving the contents of what has historically been a print manual
into a wiki; this is a style manual for regulation writers in Utah State
Government. Is it possible to print the full contents of the wiki in
something approaching book form? My director would like this, if
possible.
Thanks,
Mike
This happens at least two times a day with two of our wikies. All other
sites on the server are available, except for this or that Wiki. To put
them back online, the Apache must be restarted.
Any suggestions as to why this happens.
PS. Previously it happened because the search couldn't return whatever
results. Now the search works normally.
Hello!
I want to to change the links in "navigation" and "toolbox" and I would
like to remove the tab "discussion".
How can I do that?
With regards,
Paul van der Vlis.
Hey all,
When I try to install MediaWiki 1.4beta5, I get:
-----
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class namespace in
/my/path/to/wiki/includes/Namespace.php on line 52
-----
Anyone know why this might be? I had more, but somehow they disappeared
(or they were part of a different version that I tried when I got that
first).

Hi everybody,
i'm trying to implement the rss-feed from the recent changes pages on the portal of our organisation. I user magpie rss (http://magpierss.sourceforge.net/)_ which works seemlessly with the rss-feed of my weblog (movable type). The recentchanges rss feed is defined as followed: namewiki/index.php?title=Speciaal:Recentchanges&feed=rss
It works in rss readers (Firefox) but doesn't work with magpie. Has anybody succeeded in implementing the feed on a webpage (not necessarily with magpie)?

Hello,
I am using a local Mediawiki.
I would like to embed an image stored in file Truc.png in a page text.
the images directory rights are:
drwxrwxrwx 6 wwwrun www 4096 2005-01-19 17:00 images
I have uncommented the LocalSettings.php line:
$wgDisableUploads = false;
I put the Truc.png file in the images directory
I wrote the following in the page text:
and I got
Missing Image
Un_Truc
Truc.png
Where is this procedure described, in the Documentation?
Other questions:
1) what "thumbnail" means, it is not in my dictionary ?
2) what is the meaning of the name space "Image:" ?
does this locate the image in the images directory ?
Thanks for answering.
Best regards

convert.exe 'c:\easyphp\www\mediawiki\images\e\e1\BenR.jpg'
We probably want to convert / to \ when calling convert under win32
anyway. Please open a bug report on http://bugzilla.mediawiki.org/ and
it will be fixed by one of us :o)
>Bugfix filed as #1371
Thank you

Hello,
We have started to use (pilot) the Media Wiki at our company (>1500 emp.). It is
not convenient for us to run another kind of DB system, such as MySQL as we
have standardised ways of storing, managing and backing up our data. Are there
any implementations with or plans for an Oracle database backend for the media
wiki?
Thanks,
Stefan Urbanek

Hi all,
Our Mediawiki installation for our Intranet is proceeding well & we're
getting a lot of buy-in to the concept. One thing that is bugging our users
though is that all times are UTC and not NZ standard time (UTC + 12). Our
Windows 2000 server's time is set to NZST, Apache is recording NZST in its
logs & PHP happily reports NZST when prompted with
echo date("l dS of F Y h:i:s A");
so I *think* this is a mediawiki-specific issue.
Can anyone advise what I'll need to do to modify mediawiki to report NZST
across the board?
Cheers,
al.

Hi,
first of all please tell me if this is the wrong place to ask these
questions. It was the best one I could find, from the description.
We (at my university) are runngi a wiki on Mediawiki -
<http://www.ucl.ac.uk/calt/alpd/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page>.
I am familiar with *using* wikis but not necessarily maintaining them;
the software was installed for me.
There are a number of issues which I am increasingly having to address
and any clarification - or advice on where to get it - would be welcom.
I have googled etc but you know how that can be less helpful than you
expect...:-)
1) some of the sytems people are concerned about security. Is a wiki on
Mediawiki likely to provide any security hole that 'ordinary' web pages
don't? (or: 'what do I say to sound authoritative?' ;-)
2) how do I delete a page? :-) someone made one up as a joke thinking it
could be removed. I can't work it out.
I'm sure there will be more... but perhaps I can start there, and do
tell me if there are more appropriate places to ask.
