Folks
I've asked this before on list (but with a slightly different approach
:) and received no answer. Let me try again explaining in a better form
(I hope).
Some articles at MusicWiki were written in such way that endings were
left after a link to other article. This is a real example:
"(...) record of songs or music (...)"
When MediaWiki renders the page, it show a link to Song article but it
doesn't include final "s" as part of the link (as if the contributor has
typed songs instead of songs). This is a listed feature (at
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Editing#Links.2C_URLs - Endings are
blended into the link), however.
I was wondering if I need to enable something or configure something so
my MediaWiki instalation could behave like Meta.
Any help would be very appreciated

Hello
I tried editing:
Templates/xhtml_slim.pt
and I inserted some text:
Under the search box:
<div class="pBody">
<form name="searchform" action="${searchaction}"
id="searchform">
<input id="searchInput" name="search"
type="text"
i18n:attributes="accesskey
string:accesskey-search | default"/>
<input type='submit' name="go" value="Go"
class="searchButton"
i18n:attributes="value string:go"/> <input
type='submit' name="fulltext"
value="Search" class="searchButton"
i18n:attributes="value string:search"/>
</form>
I added:
<form method=GET
action="http://www.google.com/custom"> <img SRC=""
border="0" alt="Google" align="center"></img>
<input type="text" name="q" size="20" maxlength="255"
value=""></input> <input type="submit" name="sa"
value="Search"></input> </form>
I get a huge Pear Error? (I don't even know what pear
is?!) How can I add this to the template?
Thanks
Jimmy

Hello,
I have been trying to customize the output of MW 1.3
b5
When I modify skin.php I don't see any changes.
My current skin is the monobook default.
Which file do I need to be looking at to modify the
output, add my own custom content above the main
article and below it.
Also, if I want to add something underneath the search
box, where do I do that?
It seems like modifying /templates/monobook/main.css
would not add content, simply change the way things
look.
Thanks!
Jimmy

Hello
Is there a discussion forum out there with a lot of
Media WIki users on it? Seems like it might be an
efficient way to ask questions and discuss the
project.
Thanks

Hello,
I'm trying to install mediawiki for association OFSET (see http//www.ofset.org).
I get a blank page when I call index.php (see http://wikipedia.ofset.org).
Some hints :
- I've done the setup from command line.
- if I try to call http://wikipedia.ofset.org/config, it displays a message saying that my Wikipedai is configured and I should erase /config directory for security reasons.
- script seems not to pass line 51 :
wfProfileIn( "main-misc-setup" );
yet it passes successfully "include" lines, such as line 39
include_once( "./LocalSettings.php" );
Can you help ?

In version 1.2.6 I modified SkinXXXXXXXX.php to affect the changes that I
wished to the page output.

Hello thanks for your comments on the MediaWiki
mailing list...
Where did you end up editing then?
Even with the PHPtal in MW 1.3 beta 5 I haven't any
idea on where to insert my own site's menu items,
footers, etc..?
Thanks!

I'm in the process of setting up an internal corporate
documentation
wiki
and have gone through the exact same pains with 1.2.6
- unfortunately
PHPTal
isn't implemented in this version (as far as I can
tell) so I've taken
to
modifying the code directly.

Hi,
some notes and questions on beta5:
The "plain" installation and also the general upgrade process from older
wikis (here: 1.2.4) seems to be OK for now. I see none of the
installation errors (PEAR etc.) which occured when upgrading to beta4.
But: When upgrading a 1.2.4 wiki with approx. 1300 pages, all present
pages are gone. Even on the "All pages" and on the link for orphaned
pages, I see none of the old articles, although they are present in the
database, although I used the same site name ($wgSitename) as before.
Did I miss something here? Do I need adiditional "tweaking" after
upgrading from 1.2.4?
(Installation-Log ist enclosed)
Bye, Thommie
