performance of action=render? I found that the first call for Einstein's
page took several seconds (subsequent calls, of course, were cached and were
faster)...

The results on prop=images are not
sorted by appearance (presumably
they're sorted by title or page ID), so yes, you should probably use
action=render for that. Grabbing the first image after <div
id="column-content"> should also help.
