Hi Chris, Tomasz!
a question about integration of coordinates of wiki articles.
I have two alternatives for a mobile client:
1) generate a list view of nearby articles similar to special:nearby page
2) locate on a google? maps the pin of articles, and then user select them
and access the page.
About alternative 1)
Is it possible to adjust the code so that the links to the pages won't call
the url of the page but will query the page against the api (thus with
parameters i want) ?
Where would be possible to obtain the code?
Also, I'd like to remove the top bar and other options
About aternative 2)
I'd like to have a map with my own nearby pins, selectable; each pin query
the article against the api.
a) It is more complicated, but I saw some mobile app able to display pins
of the articles.
b) Also Google Maps have a wikipedia layers.
Which way would your recommend to develop a) or integrate b) , always with
the possibility to query the article against the api instead calling exact
url?
E.g. google maps'wiki layer let you select a wiki pin but then there is the
url.
Chris, have you done some progress since past March ?
Could you maybe share some ideas and solutions?
Thank you so much!
