Sorry, that didnt really work - I got a set of
results, the first of which
is an image of Einstein's house in Princeton:

I want the first result to be the one in the infobox on the Einstein page,
which does appear before the image of his house. Is there a way to sort
images based on location in the page? Maybe that is to use action=render,
with blacklist dictionary for standard images?
The results on prop=images are not
sorted by appearance (presumably
they're sorted by title or page ID), so yes, you should probably use
action=render for that. Grabbing the first image after <div
id="column-content"> should also help.
