Greeting GLAM-Wiki U.S., and Libraries Wikipedians!
I’m writing to invite Wikipedians to attend one of the Wikipedia Art+Feminism Edit-a-thons happening in the U.S./ internationally for the weekend of International Women’s Day, of March 7th and 8th. We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and initiative of events organizers, who have identified interest and are well into planning upcoming Art+Feminism Edit-a-thons. While we are making every effort to ensure that organizers have appropriate Wikipedia training and materials prior to hosting events, we welcome the support of Wikipedians to help assist at the Art+Feminism events and our goal is to have at least one experienced Wikipedian at each event, or otherwise ensure that events use the online Google hangout we will have running throughout the weekend of March 7th and 8th for support.
Below is a list of 42 satellite events we are currently helping plan for in the U.S. More information is available about the campaign and the events on the Art + Feminism project pages on Wikipedia.
If any of these events is in your region and you would like to help out on the day-of as a Wikipedia helper (lead a training offer editing support, etc.), or if you would like to offer other online assistance like on-wiki documentation, assistance to organizers etc., please be in touch with me through email [dorohoward@gmail.com] or on Wiki [User:OR drohowa].
