NEW COURSE ANNOUNCED

Creative Commons is proud to launch a new 4-week course starting 6 January, Creative Commons Licenses from Concepts to Practice (the title of this course may shift slightly in the coming days).

Learn more and register here.

Created in partnership with the Library Juice Academy, this course introduces open licensing concepts and practices for librarians at all levels and in any type of library. Participants will learn about the history of Creative Commons, an overview of the U.S. copyright system, including limitations and exceptions such as fair use and the public domain, and foundational concepts in open licensing, open access, and open education, including the six different Creative Commons licenses and two public domain tools.

Participants will actively determine the focus for the final week of the course, which is reserved for special topics and emerging trends as they relate to CC licensing.Topics may include the rise of AI, open data considerations, Open Access or OER advocacy, and others.

We hope you can join!
