Dear Wikimedia Language and Incubator Communities,
The *Call for Proposals for the ESEAP Conference 2026* is ongoing and closing tomorrow, *21 December 2025*.
The East, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific (ESEAP) region is one of the most linguistically diverse areas on the planet. Yet, many of our languages face significant hurdles in the digital space—from technical support in the Incubator to community sustainability for smaller wikis.
We cannot have a representative ESEAP conference without a strong focus on *Language Diversity, Indigenous Knowledge, and Minority Languages.*
We strongly encourage members of the *Incubator, LangCom, Language Diversity Hub, and Wiki for Minorities* communities to submit sessions. We are looking for synergy on topics such as:
-
*Incubation Strategies:* How to move ESEAP languages from the Incubator to full projects more efficiently. -
*Minority Language Resilience:* Case studies on sustaining small communities in the region (Minori-Ties). -
*Indigenous Knowledge:* Integrating oral histories and indigenous data with Wikimedia projects. -
*Technical Support:* Issues regarding non-Latin scripts and input methods specific to the Asia-Pacific region.
*Deadline to submit:* Sunday, 21 December 2025 (tomorrow)
