Dear Wikimedia Language and Indigenous Language Community,
We are thrilled to invite you to actively participate in Wikimania 2025, taking place in Nairobi, Kenya, from August 6–9, with a pre-conference on August 5. This year's theme, Wikimania at 20: Inclusivity. Impact. Sustainability., reflects our commitment to celebrating the diverse voices that make Wikimedia vibrant and impactful.
The Call for Program Proposals is ongoing and will close on March 31, 2025. Submissions are open to various presentation modes, whether you'd like to present remotely from your home or workplace, submit a pre-recorded presentation, or join us onsite in Nairobi as a participant. We believe your unique perspectives, particularly from the languages and indigenous communities, can profoundly enrich the conference.
To help spark ideas, here are a few topics that may align with the conference theme:
● Promoting Small and Endangered Languages: Strategies to sustain and grow indigenous and small-language projects.
● Community Engagement Initiatives: Success stories in fostering inclusivity and collaboration within language-based Wikimedia communities.
● Sustainability for Language Projects: Innovative approaches to ensure long-term impact and accessibility in your initiatives.
