I wonder about the following points:

1.) script
Ethnologue says they use Kannada and Latin <https://www.ethnologue.com/language/gom>. Translatewiki.net offers the possibility to also translate in Devanagari, Malayalam and Arabic scripts <https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Portal:Gom>.
How should this be handled? On Incubator I see that there are articles in Latin, Kannada and Devanagari, see e.g. <https://incubator.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:PrefixIndex&from=Wp%2Fgom%2Fdn%2F%E0%A4%B5%E0%A5%87%E0%A4%9A%E0%A5%80%E0%A4%95_%E0%A4%AA%E0%A5%82%E0%A4%A4_%E0%A4%B5%E0%A4%AA%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%B0&prefix=Wp%2Fgom%2F&columns=3> It seems like they are distinguished with "dn" and "kd"
prefixes. Some pages also contain several scripts in one article. How should this be handled? Should there be separate wikis for each script, or better a converter? I wouldn't want a situation like with az/azb to appear because of different scripts.

2.) content
Gerard, can you elaborate? Who confirmed this?

Also I see some doubtful content, atm mainly this category <https://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Wp/gom/Jezucheo_Vopareo> which contains biblical parables, each including in English a "Meditation [which] may be freely reprinted for non-commercial use [...] © 2014 Servants of the Word"; I am now removing these from the articles.

Great, then I see no reason not to make it happen.

I agree we need to move forward on this. Do we have confirmation that the language in the incubator is really, truly Konkani?

Hoi,
I am on record that I want this to happen. I am on record that it helps when they start adding information in Wikidata so that the search engine can find items that are in Wikidata preferably with a label in Konkani.

I do know that institutions are happy to support Konkani in a practical manner. My problem is not that I do not endorse it. My problem is that the language committee  has to agree to this. One vote against and it is the no show we face.

Dear LangCom,

I understand there is an open request to move the Konkani Wikipedia ('gom') out of the purgatory of the Incubator.  In my WMF role, I have some context on the efforts that have sparked this young community, and would be happy to answer questions if the committee has any.  To be clear, I fully endorse the request.

Please let me know if you think you need further information to make a decision.

Thanks,
