I mentioned this recently in the thread about improving the site creation process: there are certain technical blockers for making the move. Much less than there were two years ago, but there still are some. I kind of hope it will happen in 2017, but cannot promise it.

I can’t imagine where I would write a blog post, but à propos a language subtag that was granted not long ago for the use of this committee, why hasn’t simple.wikipedia.org been migrated to en-simple.wikipedia.org?
