I am not am expert, but regarding number of speakers of Yonaguni, according to a source I see regarding the nimber of speaker https://hal.science/hal-01289786/document , it is estimated by the following method: In year 2013, two of the three settlement on Yaeyama see people age over 55 still continue to use the language. The condition was set because the other settlement on the island as well as among younger generation of the rwo settlement see large influx of foreign population and are likely to use standard Japanese in daily communication instead. But the estimation do not consider whether those people actually know Japanese, and the estimation also do not consider whether people moving out of Yaeyama still know Japanese or not. Therefore actual number of speaker could be more than the number estimated in literature like this.

However, given the source assumed that people older than 55 in year 2013 continue to speak the language, in current year of 2024 that would mean they're age 65+, and that might have implication on the status of living of the language.

My take: Waiting. The language is small, but living, and at least some of the articles in the current Incubator were contributed by someone who appears to actually know it. I pinged them and invited them to continue. But I'd love to see more activity or expert advice from someone who knows the minor languages of Japan before marking it as eligible.

== Yonaguni ==

My take: Waiting. Some content in the Incubator appears to be legit. But the language has under 1000 speakers, and some of the contributors to the Incubator are banned users or people who don't even claim to know the language. So, as with Yaeyama, I'd feel more comfortable with expert advice.

== Yoron ==

My take: Delete the request and the Incubator content if there is no reply at https://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Jsph457 from the user who created it.
