Hallo!
I've marked Slovak Wikinews as eligible, because there are already other
projects in this language.
If anyone disagrees, feel free to revert.

Hallo!
I am going through
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Open_requests_for_new_languages ,
project by project, letter by letter, up to ten requests per email, one
email per day.
I am now working on Wikipedia, and today I'm handling the letters Q and R.
Two letters this time, because there are very few requests in them.
== Queretaro otomi ==
I took the liberty to delete the page
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Queret…
, which was created by a banned user and wasn't edited much by other
people. There is some content in the incubator in this language, which
doesn't look too bad, so I see no immediate reason to delete it.
== Rajasthani ==
Request:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Rajast…
code: raj
My take: Waiting. See my other email about it, with the subject "Rajasthani
and Hadothi".

I am now working on Wikipedia, and today I'm handling the letter P.
== Petjo ==
Request:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Petjo
Code: pey
My take: Eligible? The language is a nearly-extinct creole, but the content
in the Incubator looks kind of legit. Other opinions are welcome.
== Pitjantjatjara ==
Request:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Pitjan…
Code: pjt
My take: Not sure. The language is eligible, but I'm really not sure that
the request is serious. It's by an anonymous user who proceeded to create a
few very short pages in the Incubator.
== Pothwari ==
Request:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Pothwa…
Code: phr
My take: Waiting. There's a comment on the request page that says that it
is probably not so different from Shahmukhi Punjabi (pnb), and that the
current content in the Incubator can fit in pnb.wikipedia. I can't say
myself if this is true, but it may be. I've sent a question about it to the
expert who helped us with verifying Saraiki (skr), and who probably knows
about Pothwari, too.

Hallo!
I am going through
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Open_requests_for_new_languages ,
project by project, letter by letter, up to ten requests per email, one
email per day.
I am now working on Wikipedia, and today I'm handling the letter O.
I took the liberty to delete one Wikipedia request in the letter O:
* Oi, which was created by an anonymous user and had no content in the
Incubator or substantial discussion.
== Oji-Cree ==
Request:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Oji-Cr…
Code: ojs
My take: I'm not sure how different it is from ojb, in which there is a
pretty well-established Incubator. I'd ask an expert who knows the language
before marking it as eligible. Probably "waiting" for now.
== Okanagan ==
Request:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Okanag…
Code: oka
My take: Delete the request, which was created by a user who doesn't claim
knowledge of the language and didn't produce any discussion. The language
could be eligible—I'm not against serious revitalization projects. The
activity in this language on Wikimedia doesn't seem very serious, however.
All the content in the Incubator is created by two users, one of whom may
know the language, but hasn't written anything since 2017, and the other
doesn't claim knowledge of the language and only creates articles with
titles taken from an online dictionary and no text, and the other. So I
recommend deleting the request, as well as most of the no-content pages in
the Incubator.

Hallo!

https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Open_requests_for_new_languages ,
project by project, letter by letter, up to ten requests per email, one

I am now working on Wikipedia, and today I'm handling the second batch of
letter L.
== Libon Bikol ==
Request:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Libon_…
Code: lbl
My take: Delete the request. The user hasn't been active since posting
requests for several languages a year ago.
== Logudorese Sardinian ==
Request:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Logudo…
Code: src
My take: Not sure, leaning not eligible. There is a lot of discussion on
the request page. I am not seeing strong arguments saying that it's
distinct from Sardinian (sc), in which there already is a Wikipedia, but
perhaps I need to re-read it more thoroughly.
== Louisiana Creole ==
Request:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Louisi…
Code: lou
My take: Eligible. The user who created the request is no longer active,
but the code is valid, the language is living and unique, and other users
are slowly working in the Incubator.
== Luba-Kasai a.k.a. Tshiluba ==
Request:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Luba-K…
Code: lua
My take: Eligible, and I'd even say that it's quite close to a stage where
it should be fully approved.
== Kiluba (not to be confused with Tshiluba ==
Requst:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Kiluba
Code: lu
My take: Eligible. No activity in the Incubator till now, but I've been in
contact with someone from DR Congo, who I hope will start contributing. If
I'm not mistaken, lu is the last two-letter code for a living language that
Wikimedia doesn't support in any way, and for that alone it should be
marked as eligible ;)
But seriously, if anyone has objections, I'm fine with waiting.
== Lushootseed ==
Request:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Lushoo…
Code: lut
My take: Waiting. The language is borderline eligible, and there is some
content in the Incubator, but there are no serious contributors at the
moment.
== Láadan ==
Request:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_L%C3%A…
Code: ldn
My take: Ineligible. If anyone has a different opinion, I'm open to hearing
it. This artificial language seems to have had an active community in the
past outside the Wikimedia world, which would be good for eligibilty. If it
was still active, I'd probably lean towards "eligible". Unfortunately, its
website https://laadanlanguage.com/ appears to be abandoned at the moment:
The latest updates are from 2020, and the forum is full of spam. I should
also add that in 2023, there was a request to add it for localization on
translatewiki, and I did it, but there was very little real translation
activity. I tried emailing the request creator several days ago and got no
reply.

Hallo,
I'd like to repeat my question from a few days ago in the "eligible /
ineligible Wikipedia requests: H" email, to make sure that it's properly
discussed.
Does anyone disagree with marking the request for Wikipedia Hanja as
ineligible?
My rationale: I don't know Korean, but to the best of my understanding,
Hanja is occasionally used in books and newspapers, and it is similarly
used in the Korean Wikipedia. Wider usage of Hanja is outdated, and
comparable to Polytonic Greek or pre-1918 Russian. The request says that it
should be eligible for the same reason that Mongolian in Mongolian script
is eligible (
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Mongol…
), but this comparison is not valid: Mongolian in Cyrillic and in Mongolian
script may represent the same language (and I'm actually not even sure
about that), but the scripts are completely different, and both are
currently widely used for general-purpose writing by different (and only
partly overlapping) groups of people, whereas Hanja has not been used for
general-purpose writing for several decades. If this is factually wrong, or
if this is factually correct, but you have a different conclusion, I'm
happy to hear it.
