Queridos y queridas,
Desde Iberoconf 2017, hemos continuado discutiendo a dónde nos vemos en el futuro. Como parte de este proceso, me alegra mucho ver las conversaciones que están llevándose a cabo entre las comunidades de Iberocoop, y me emociona ver hacia dónde están yendo. Estoy al tanto de su activa participación, no solo en wiki, sino en canales alternos como Telegram - ¡todo esto evidencia la participación e interés en el proceso!
Estoy muy agradecida con la Carta de Buenos Aires. Es prueba de la comunicación y colaboración en la que está construido nuestro movimiento. Creo que es el fundamento para un canal de comunicación mucho más sólido y abierto entre Iberocoop y la Fundación.
Desde Iberoconf, hemos estado reflexionando sobre el contenido de la Carta. Hemos iniciado conversaciones relevantes internamente para recolectar más información y entender sus puntos con mayor profundidad.
Para poder reconocer con la propiedad que merece la Carta de Buenos Aires y su importancia para la comunidad de Iberocoop, me gustaría dirigirme sobre ésta y sobre la "Carta a Katherine" publicada tras Wiki Indaba con una respuesta formal durante Wikimanía. La respuesta acompañará la presentación que yo daré junto a Christophe Henner, presidente del Consejo de Administración de la Fundación.
Mientras tanto, sé que han estado en cercana comunicación y coordinación con Jorge Vargas y otros colegas de la Fundación, hablando y discutiendo los puntos que han traído, al igual que algunas posibles soluciones y oportunidades que podrían implementarse. Quiero que estén seguros y seguras que internamente en la Fundación los temas de esta carta han estado presentes en nuestras conversaciones.
Estamos felices y honrados de tener su voz en la comunidad, el ejemplo que han dado a otros grupos regionales y a otras comunidades, y en general, el gran valor que le dan a nuestro movimiento.
Tengo grandes expectativas por compartir la respuesta completa a la carta durante Wikimanía, al igual de poder ver y hablar con muchos y muchas de ustedes en Montreal. Entre tanto, no duden en compartir cualquier pregunta o comentarios con Jorge o conmigo.

Since Iberoconf 2017, our movement has continued to discuss where we see ourselves in the future. As part of this process, I am very glad to see the conversations happening within the Iberocoop communities, and excited to see where these are heading. I am aware of your active participation you all have had not only on-wiki, but through alternative channels such as Telegram - all evidence of your engagement and interest in the process!
I am grateful for the Carta de Buenos Aires. It stands as evidence of the spirit of communication and collaboration the Wikimedia movement is built upon. I believe it is the foundation for increased open dialogue between the Iberocoop community and the Foundation.
Since Iberoconf, we have been reflecting on the Carta's content. We’ve been having relevant conversations internally, and gathering more information to understand your points more thoroughly.
In order to properly recognize the Carta de Buenos Aires and the importance of the Iberocoop community, I would like to acknowledge both this and Wiki Indaba's "Letter to Katherine" with a formal response while we are at Wikimania. The response will be timed to accompany the presentation that I intend to give along with Christophe Henner, our Wikimedia Foundation Board Chair.
In the meantime, I know that you have been in close communication and coordination with Jorge Vargas and other Foundation colleagues, already talking and discussing some of the points raised, as well as potential solutions and opportunities that can be implemented. Please be assured that internally within the Foundation, the themes of the letter have been present in our conversations.
We are so happy and honored to have your voice in the community, the example you set to other regional groups and communities, and overall, the amazing value you give to our movement.
Looking forward to sharing with you the full response to the letter during Wikimania, and seeing and speaking with many of you in Montreal! In the meantime, do not hesitate to share any questions or thoughts to Jorge and myself.
