I have some good news before I go to bed... JIRA is working properly now!
So now you should see the "Assign to me" links in the menu. Now you
can choose requests yourself without needing to make a comment and let
me update it.
I assigned (in JIRA) the 15 or so requests that had already been chosen.
When you have an image assigned to you, you should see a new link in
the left menu "Begin review". You should click on this only after you
have uploaded the image you created to Commons, and posted a link to
it on JIRA.
I created some extra "test" issues, so feel free to experiment with these.

But if you make a mistake on a "real" one it's not a big deal, I can
easily help you fix it. So please don't be afraid of JIRA :)
