Based on feedback the plan is to close the list, keeping the list
archive available for reference. The comment on the Commons Village
Pump was useful, highlighting that Commons-l is a good place for
Commons upload tool discussion, especially if the topic is indicated,
i.e. put "[Tools]" or similar as a prefix in the subject line. Despite
having 149 members, the GLAMtools list has been almost completely
inactive this year, and though Commons-l is a relatively quiet list,
it will have a higher volume of readers and experienced Commonsers who
can help or suggest where to find help.
There is no special hurry, so closing the list may take a couple of
weeks to get to. If Commons-l or other places find a high volume of
tool related discussion and questions later on, we can revisit whether
creating or reopening the tools list is worth the small maintenance
effort.
Thanks,
Fae
