I don't know how big ESC[1] is in your country, but in Sweden most everything closes down when it's showed and newspapers write a lot about it.

This year we have an accredited wikipedian photograper[2] on site with camera equipment from the technology pool[3] from Wikimedia Sweden, and he is doing a great job[4]. Tell your local communities about it and make sure the images gets as much usage as possible.

Stats right now[5] is that out of 83 uploaded images, 16 are used in 33 articles in ten languages.
