After introducing the basics of external grantmaking in our first session,
weāre moving into one of the most practical parts of the process: finding
funding opportunities that actually fit your work.
STRENGTHEN Colloquium #2: Finding Opportunities and Mapping Strategic
Outcomes
š October 2, 2026
ā° 2:00ā3:30 p.m. UTC
š» Online
In this session, weāll focus on:
š Strategies for finding relevant external funding opportunities
šļø Developing keywords that make funding searches more productive
šÆ Matching Wikimedia projects with fundersā missions and priorities
š Connecting project ideas to strategic outcomes that matter to funders
šļø Building a personalized prospect list of potential funders
The goal is practical: leave with a clearer strategy for finding funding
and a starting list of potential funders to pursue.
This is the second session in our 9-part STRENGTHEN colloquium series,
which is designed to move participants step-by-step through the external
grantmaking process, from developing project ideas and identifying
opportunities to building partnerships, writing proposals, and managing
grants.
Whether you're working with a Wikimedia affiliate, developing a research or
education project, organizing in your local community, or simply curious
about funding possibilities beyond the Wikimedia Foundation, we'd love to
have you join us.

Hi everyone,
This is your reminder that next Tuesday, 22 September, is the next Global
GLAM Call. These are monthly community calls with a collaborative agenda
that usually covers all kinds of culture and heritage related topics in the
WIkimedia movement. Every month, for more than 2 years, dozens of community
members have gathered online to exchange ideas and projects and discuss
different ongoing activities.
This month there is a very interesting agenda that will include a few
project updates as well as a cultural commons dialogue with partners such
as the Open Knowledge and Open Future!
Hope you will be able to join! Register here:

Weāre excited to announce that registration for the 2026 LD4 Conference
<https://sites.google.com/stanford.edu/2026-ld4-conference/home?authuser=0>
is now open! Join us virtually September 28-30, 2026, to learn about the
way professionals in Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAM) are
implementing and maintaining their linked data initiatives. View conference
sessions on the Sched event page <https://2026ld4.sched.com/>. The LD4 2026
Conference is held virtually, and participation is free for all attendees.
The LD4 2026 Conference will include presentations, lightning talks, and
workshops that highlight the application of linked data and its impact on
knowledge systems, with a focus on galleries, libraries, archives, and
museums. If youāre just getting started, you will leave with a better
understanding of linked data and how people are integrating this work into
their practical workflows. If you have already implemented linked data
initiatives, continue to expand your work and get inspired by insights from
experienced practitioners.
