I am running a short survey to understand (1) how GLAM practitioners use Wikimedia tools (2) what happens when tools break or don’t behave as expected, and (3) how people currently find support to resolve problems. The results of this survey will help shape a Wikimedia Hackathon project concept aimed at improving pathways for reporting issues, finding documentation, requesting new features, and sharing reliable workarounds and patches for bugs.

Hello,
The Celebrate Women 2026
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Celebrate_Women> campaign is around
the corner!
Celebrate Women <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Celebrate_Women> is
a campaign that will run from March 1 to March 31. Every year, in
celebration of International Women’s Day, Wikimedia organizers use this
campaign to list gender-related events during March and as an opportunity
to advance the achievements of the women’s rights and gender equity
movement globally.
These events create opportunities to grow content about women and
non-binary people on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects. Join us!
💻 Do you want to participate?
If you are hoping to participate, please stay tuned to this page
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Celebrate_Women#Events> for events
that will be listed. Register for them individually by choosing those that
suit your interests. The events will be added to the page in the next few
weeks.
And don't forget to register here
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Celebrate_Women> (using the
registration at the top of the page) to keep track of information relevant
to the overall campaign.
[image: 🌱] Do you want to organize an event?
If you or your group plans to organize a gender event or campaign during
this period, please note:
-
The page to add your events is the following subpage: Celebrate
Women/Events
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Celebrate_Women/Events>. Events
on this page are now divided into 'global' and 'regional' events. Please
choose the section that better suits your needs.
-
The campaign's main page
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Celebrate_Women> will be used to
promote your events or campaigns. It will be added to the CentralNotice
banner and displayed to many potential participants.
⭐ Special sessions:
The Wikimedia Foundation is also happy to announce that we will be
hosting *three
special events* for Celebrate Women 2026 in the coming weeks! This is part
of our ongoing commitment to gender equity and providing training for the
movement.
Training sessions:
We will host 2 sessions aimed at organizers with topics that help better
manage a Wikimedia event. The goal is to empower local gender organizers
with essential features to lead activities during this campaign.
- When? Last week of February. Stay tuned for the dates soon!
Opening session:
We will open Celebrate Women 2026 with a session to share logistical
information about how to participate in the campaign and the different
gender activities happening around the month. This will be aimed at anyone
who wants to take part in the campaign.
- When? First week of March. Stay tuned for more!
Join us for Celebrate Women 2026 and help us make the Wikimedia movement
and projects more equitable!
Warmly,
Giovanna
