Hello everyone,
I’m delighted to invite you to the 34th edition of the DCW Conversation
Hour, featuring Dumisani Ndubane, a long-time South African Wikimedian and
Director of Monitoring & Evaluation at MMG Earth. He has also worked with
the Wikimedia Foundation in various monitoring and evaluation capacities
and continues to play a pivotal role in advancing the Wikimedia Movement
Strategy.
In this session, “2030 Strategy and the Wikimedia Movement,” Dumisani will
share insights into the evolution of the Movement Strategy, its current
phase of implementation, and the key priorities guiding Wikimedia’s
collective path toward 2030. We’ll discuss how sustainability, inclusion,
equity, and community-led innovation form the pillars of the Strategy—and
how affiliates, user groups, and individual contributors can align their
efforts to make meaningful impact.
The Conversation Hour is scheduled for Saturday, 25 October 2025, at 13:30
UTC (7:00 p.m. IST).
You can find event details and registration on the page below:

Hello, Wikimedia + GLAM folks!
Ahead of state and local elections this November, the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) Library is hosting two events focused on the Political Buttons at HKS Collection<https://www.hks.harvard.edu/faculty-research/library-knowledge-services/col…>. The events will focus on improving collection metadata and investigating copyright status, enabling us to make collection items available on platforms beyond Harvard (e.g., ✨Wikimedia Commons✨) to expand the collection's reach and research potential.
You’re invited! Please join us. The first event is in-person in the Boston area, while the second event is virtual. All are welcome at both events.
At the events, you’ll...
* Research the dates associated with the buttons of candidates who have run for all levels of political office.
* Learn about copyright law and researching copyright registrations.
* Investigate the copyright status associated with these buttons.
* Help to make it much easier for people to find specific buttons in the collection.
* Enable us to make the buttons available on many more platforms beyond Harvard.
* Explore the many political campaigns run in the US over the past century.
* Learn how to register to vote in your municipal election taking place on November 4.
