Am 8. und 9. November 2025 findet das Vintage Computer Festival<https://vintagecomputerfestival.ch/> bei uns in der Enter Technikwelt in Derendingen (Kt. Solothurn) statt. Im Rahmen dieses Festivals organisieren wir zusammen mit IEEE eine Konferenz mit dem Titel «Swiss Computing History». Namhafte Experten und Zeitzeugen der Schweizer Computergeschichte werden dabei Referate halten (30-40 Min.) oder in einer Sonderausstellung auf rund 100m2 ihre Erfindungen präsentieren.
In französischen, englischen und deutschen Beiträgen werden an der Konferenz die ganze Bandbreite an Schweizer Hard- und Software-Entwicklungen im 20. Jahrhundert behandelt: Von den ersten an den Eidgenössischen Technischen Hochschulen in Lausanne und Zürich entwickelten Workstations und Programmiersprachen, über die Anfänge des World Wide Web am CERN bis hin zu bahnbrechenden Schweizer Erfindungen auf dem Gebiet der Maus, der Supercomputer oder der Embedded-PCs. Chères collègues, chers collègues,
Les 8 et 9 novembre 2025, le Vintage Computer Festival<https://vintagecomputerfestival.ch/fr/home-fr/> aura lieu chez nous, à l'Enter Technikwelt à Derendingen (canton de Soleure). Pendant le festival, nous organisons en collaboration avec IEEE une conférence intitulée « Swiss Computing History ». Des experts renommés et des témoins de l'histoire informatique suisse y tiendront des conférences (30-40 min) ou présenteront leurs inventions dans le cadre d'une exposition spéciale sur environ 100 m².
Les contributions en français, en anglais et en allemand de la conférence couvriront toute la gamme des développements hard- et softwares suisses au XXe siècle : des premières workstations et langages de programmation développés aux Écoles polytechniques fédérales de Lausanne et de Zurich aux inventions suisses révolutionnaires dans le domaine de la souris, des supercomputers ou des embedded-pc's, en passant par les débuts du World Wide Web au CERN. Dear colleagues,
On November 8 and 9, 2025, the Vintage Computer Festival will take place at Enter Technikwelt in Derendingen (Canton of Solothurn). As part of this festival, we are organizing together with IEEE a conference entitled "Swiss Computing History." Renowned experts and contemporary witnesses of Swiss computer history will give presentations (30-40 min.) or present their inventions in a special exhibition covering around 100m2.
The conference will feature presentations in French, English, and German covering the entire spectrum of Swiss hardware and software developments in the 20th century: from the first workstations and programming languages developed at the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology in Lausanne and Zurich, to the beginnings of the World Wide Web at CERN, to groundbreaking Swiss inventions in the field of mice, supercomputers, and embedded PCs. You will find the list of presentations in the attached flyer.
