During the #geowebchat Twitter meeting I "met" (as close as you can
meet someone on Twitter) a woman who is writing her dissertation
about Open Street Maps and the representation of women's health and
childcare and related subjects in the open source geo spatial
community.
I decided to search, on Open Street Maps, for Planned Parenthood (a
(primarily) women's health services non-profit organization located
throughout the United States) and had no results. While there are a
few results for childcare[1].
So, when you search for...strip club you get a nice collection of
icons for strip club (NSFW)[2] used as definers. There are no
definers for women's health or childcare.
While I should not be surprised, I was disappointed to find this
out. Looks like, when my schedule allows it, an OSM street mapping
party will have to take place for women's health, history and
related subjects!
