Azuki,

There are chapters in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau, all of which have voting rights. Three votes for one country is more than for anyone else in the world, and with only 42 possible votes and about 30 voters last year, China could be 10% of the decision this year if you managed to get all three to vote together. The Macau group is inactive, and the Hong Kong one continues to have a monthly meetup even if otherwise quiet. The Taiwan group is most active of the three in terms of speaking up on wiki.

Besides these, any chapter could support your nomination. If you want to nominate someone, please do here
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Affiliate-selected_Board_seats/2016/Nominations>
I will assist in requesting a chapter endorsement, which can come after the nomination and need not be at the same time. Anyone can make a valid nomination in 5 minutes as this is supposed to be a casual process, and more text could always be added if the candidate or their supporters wish to add more later.

Is there anything more that I can do to support you in getting involved as you would like?

yours,

Well, I'm Chinese, and I do not have a "local chapter" to submit suggestions to (nor would it, with the current political climate, be realistic), not that I'd be eligible anyway.

On a related subject, the same is true for the board seats being selected soon.  Make suggestions to your local chapter or affiliate, or for the appointed board seat still unfilled.    SJ

With Lila Tretikov's resignation today, it will be important for people who think it is important to increase participation by women to speak up about it as a search is launched for a new Executive Director.

I encourage people to monitor discussions on meta about the qualifications for a ED, and comment not just about diversity issues but to otherwise make suggestions.
