Gender gap is one of many issues mentioned. Thought not the most divisive one.

Luckily I don't feel like going through my list of various solutions, much of which have to do with giving up with tyranny of structurelessness which has allowed the nastiest good old boys to drive off so many women and other decent editors over the years.
