Over the next few days, 1.26wmf21 will be deployed to WMF wikis. The
highlights of what's new in wmf21 are:
- To prevent abuse, edits that mentioned more than 20 users would not
cause Echo notifications to be sent. This limit has been increased
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T110306> to 50.
- Writing new posts in Flow using the mobile site was completely broken
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T110485>; this regression was
introduced in wmf19 and is fixed in wmf21.
- Links to pages whose name contains './' (dot slash) were broken
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T110676>. The fix for this bug was
deployed immediately, outside of the weekly schedule, because of how common
these types of pages are on the Hebrew Wikipedia.
- Removing a category from a Flow board description now actually
decategorizes it <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T94569>. Similarly,
removing a link or template now actually removes the board from the
Whatlinkshere list for that page or template. This will prevent new
"phantom" entries (entries that should have been removed but weren't)
from
appearing in categories and Whatlinkshere, but existing phantom entries
won't be removed until we run a script to rebuild these lists
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T110326> later this week or some time
next week.
- Links from Flow topics to special pages are no longer listed
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T109814> in Whatlnkshere. As above,
this will prevent new bad entries from being added, but existing ones will
only be removed when we run the rebuild script.
- The "expand the single topic view
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T103584>" feature introduced in wmf19
did
not display correctly <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T110488> in
right-to-left languages. This is fixed in wmf21.
