I think this is a really good idea, especially for users with 0 or less
than x edit count, unless they intentionally switched to wikitext editing
and successfully saved an edit.
This is suggested as part of the unified toolbar which brings more
consistency to wikitext and visual editing but allows a user to switch in
between the two (

edit mode immediatly. How about doing an A/B test for new editors (or even
IP-users) and assign &veaction=edit instead on redlinks for a sample and
