Hello everyone,

Here is a new blog post we just published about Echo, the new notification system we are developing with the E2 editor engagement team:

http://blog.wikimedia.org/2013/02/07/echo-a-new-notification-system-for-wikipedia/

Your comments are welcome, as always! I will email an update shortly about the new notifications we are now focusing on for the first release.

We plan to deploy an updated version of Echo on MediaWiki.org next Thursday, and will invite our community to help us test, starting the week of February 19th -- all the way through the end of March, when we aim to release it on the English Wikipedia (details will be added on our testing page next week: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Echo/Testing )

We'd also like to remind you that we are looking to hire a software engineer to join our E2 team, in case you know someone who might be a good fit. Here's our job description:

We encourage you to spread the word about Echo, this job and our editor engagement projects!

Regards as ever,

Fabrice
