On behalf of the Wikipedia & Education User Group, I'd like to thank you and the rest of the team at Wikimedia Rwanda for your partnership in starting to plan the EduWiki Conference. We're sorry to not be able to host in in Kigali, but we very much understand your group's reasoning, and wish you all the best in your projects! We hope to host the conference in Kigali at some point in the future. 

We'll be opening up a bidding process for a new host for EduWiki Conference, which we now plan to hold in early 2025. I'll send a separate email about that shortly!

This decision aligns with our current strategic priorities, which heavily focus on two cross-border projects and eLearning Africa Side Event involvement. These initiatives require significant attention and resources to ensure our organisational growth.

While acknowledging the vital role the EduWiki Conference plays in fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing within the education community, it's best for all parties involved if we dedicate ourselves fully to our existing commitments.

We understand this decision may cause inconvenience and sincerely apologize for any disruption. We appreciate your understanding and hope to host the EduWiki Conference again in the future, once our current projects reach completion.
