Hello
everyone,
More
change is coming to the Wikipedia Education Program team.
LiAnna Davis has let me know she will be leaving the Wikimedia
Foundation. LiAnna has directed our team's communications
since I hired her for the pilot program in the United States
back in June 2010. Her last day will be March 14.
While
we'll miss LiAnna at the Wikimedia Foundation, she'll continue
to be involved in the Wikipedia Education Program in the U.S.
and Canada. She's joining Frank Schulenburg and Jami Mathewson
at the Wiki Education Foundation, where she's excited about
helping the U.S. program achieve the potential we all saw in
it when we started it back in 2010.
Over
the next several week, I will be working with the team to
reorganize the many tasks that LiAnna currently does for the
program. We'll be reaching out to and meeting with various
program leaders worldwide. We will keep you posted about
the Wikipedia Education Program team. As you can see, there is
a lot happening, so stay tuned for more information.
Please join me in thanking LiAnna for all her hard work
for the Wikimedia Foundation and wishing her the best in her
new role with the Wiki Education Foundation.
