Dear All - please consider joining us for the second colloquium in the
Wikimedia STRENGTHEN Colloquium Series!
👉 Register and learn more:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:STRENGTHEN2
After introducing the basics of external grantmaking in our first session,
we’re moving into one of the most practical parts of the process: finding
funding opportunities that actually fit your work.
STRENGTHEN Colloquium #2: Finding Opportunities and Mapping Strategic
Outcomes
📅 October 2, 2026
⏰ 2:00–3:30 p.m. UTC
💻 Online
In this session, we’ll focus on:
🔎 Strategies for finding relevant external funding opportunities
🗝️ Developing keywords that make funding searches more productive
🎯 Matching Wikimedia projects with funders’ missions and priorities
📈 Connecting project ideas to strategic outcomes that matter to funders
🗂️ Building a personalized prospect list of potential funders
The goal is practical: leave with a clearer strategy for finding funding
and a starting list of potential funders to pursue.
This is the second session in our 9-part STRENGTHEN colloquium series,
which is designed to move participants step-by-step through the external
grantmaking process, from developing project ideas and identifying
opportunities to building partnerships, writing proposals, and managing
grants.
Whether you're working with a Wikimedia affiliate, developing a research or
education project, organizing in your local community, or simply curious
about funding possibilities beyond the Wikimedia Foundation, we'd love to
have you join us.

Hi everyone,
Just a quick reminder that our *P&E V2 Community Testing & Feedback Call*
is coming up *this Friday,* *18 September at 16:00 UTC*.
If you use the Programs & Events Dashboard to organise programmes or manage
campaigns, this is an opportunity to *test the latest updates and share
your experience directly with the project team*.
*Register here:* P&E V2 Community Testing & Feedback Call
<https://zoom.us/meeting/register/5zr-uxveT56ZB7aahluVKw>
The session will be hands-on, so we encourage participants to come ready to
explore the updated Dashboard and share any feedback, usability issues or
bugs they encounter.
Feel free to share the invitation with other Dashboard users who may be
interested in taking part.
We hope to see you there.
Best regards,
*Barakat Adegboye*

Hi everyone,
This is your reminder that next Tuesday, 22 September, is the next Global
GLAM Call. These are monthly community calls with a collaborative agenda
that usually covers all kinds of culture and heritage related topics in the
WIkimedia movement. Every month, for more than 2 years, dozens of community
members have gathered online to exchange ideas and projects and discuss
different ongoing activities.
This month there is a very interesting agenda that will include a few
project updates as well as a cultural commons dialogue with partners such
as the Open Knowledge and Open Future!
Hope you will be able to join! Register here:
